It's supposed to be called SCANDINAVIAN mythology.
Scandinavia was all once a country called SWEDEN. Never NORWAY. So calling it NORWEGIAN or NORSE mythology is just BLASPHEMY!

There's a lot of stuff in RO that's from SCANDINAVIAN mythology. For example, Ginnungagap, a dark dagger in RO, is actually a hole between the two dimensions of ice and fire. It's between these worlds, so somewhere near/on Ginnungagap that a giant called Ymer melted out of the ice because of sparks of fire getting too close. Ymer was later killed, and his body is now the world as we know it. Bones became mountains, blood became rivers and seas, teeth and hair became trees and stuff, and his skull became the container of the sky.
